Bacteria Cell Hydrophobicity and Interfacial Properties Relationships: A New MEOR Approach

For microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR), different mechanisms have been introduced. In some of these papers, the phenomena and related to biosurfactants produced by certain microorganisms were discussed, while others studied direct impacts properties on mechanisms. However, there are only very few papers dealing with interfacial properties. present work, three bacteria MJ02 (Bacillus Subtilis type), MJ03 (Pseudomonas Aeruginosa RAG1 (Acinetobacter Calcoaceticus type) hydrophobicity factors 2, 34, 79% studied, along their impact water/heptane tension (IFT), dilational visco-elasticity, emulsion stability. A relationship between adsorption dynamics IFT reduction cells is found. The highest (79%) exhibit a fast dynamic lead relatively large elasticity values at short time. maximum (at frequencies) observed for intermediate factor (34%); however, longer times. emulsification studies show that among bacteria, just provides good capability stabilize crude in brine emulsions, which correlates high salinity aqueous phase also discussed as an important formation stabilization.
